Professional Standard Six
Reflection:
I understand this standard to mean that as a teacher I am responsible for encouraging students to value personal development and participation in society. I believe this is strongly represented by “being” that person and holding these values myself. To regularly discussions and links the syllabus to real world events and scenarios.
Strengths / Weaknesses:
One of the main reasons I am passionate about teaching is the lack of responsibility my school had towards this standard. Personal development and participation in society is one of the key skills needed in today’s world. I have traveled extensively and worked in a number of different occupations, from which I feel I would be able to effectively meet this standard with the students.
Artifacts:
- The inherit nature of this standard calls for itself. To meet this standard I must as a teacher always be growing and learning. To engage the students I should be up to date with current affairs, and take advantage of any professional development experiences I can.
- Comment to students what is working and what is not.. Note that changes have been made.
- Incorporate these ideas into lesson plans.
